We are delighted to have taken over this elderly housing scheme late last year, taking responsibility for 27 units in this area. The scheme includes a small community centre providing daily/evening activities for all residents to enjoy.
Tucked away just off Pearse Road, you’d be forgiven for being unaware of the existence of the Loreto Village retirement community. Despite its central location in a bustling Enniscorthy town, the development seems to sit in its own little bubble where things move at a slower pace.
The community, which has been up and running since the year 2000, consists of a total of 25 houses and 2 apartments and is currently home to a wonderful community’, happy to live their days independently in peace and comfort and with a great social network around them. Now run by a Carlow Voluntary Housing Association T/a Tinteán, the community has been a great success story over the past 25 years.
Some residents have been here a very long time. Some have even been here since the opening in 2000’ to ‘Many of our residents are very well settled here and have been with us for many years and we also have outings during the summer.
There is an independence about living in Loreto Village and residents are encouraged to get out and attend local organisations and activities and socialise. As well as that, events like bingo in the community centre is on every Monday which provides a nice social outlet.
